In 1819, the year of Walt Whitman's birth, the Long Island farmhouse in which he was born did not have electricity. Fast forward to the 21st century-we expect electricity in our homes! Each participant in this program will make his/her own electric circuit by which electricity moves over wires. Electrical circuits supply electricity to different parts of a house. When the switch is turned "on," electricity is allowed to flow, for example, to a light bulb. When the switch is turned "off," electricity cannot flow to the light bulb. Turn on the switch! See electricity happen!
